Laurie is a long time resident of the Santa Cruz Mountains, and an equally tenured KPIG - and KFAT - listener.

Spending thirty years on the air and in programming at legendary Bay Area radio stations KOME, KSJO and KFOX prepared Laurie for fully appreciating the Pig. From the fantastic music, to the classically funky studio, to the great listeners locally and all over the world, to respecting the legend that Laura Ellen created, Laurie is, well, happy as a pig in you know what to be part of the Sty staff.

One of the things Laurie is proudest of in her career is her work to help the community. While at KFOX she began segments and features that raised over $200,000 for local charity, helped to support local musicians, and music in schools. At KPIG, the commitment to all of these and more is strong, so she fits right in.

Answer to frequently asked question: at the end of each show, Laurie signs off by saying 'putting another one on the shelf for Lefty'. 'Lefty' was Mikel (Hunter) Herrington, a radio legend that was her boss at KOME, and helped to start her love for the creativity and fun that radio can be. Mikel passed away several years ago, and Laurie has dedicated each show to him since.

Laurie is incredibly honored to have been inducted into the San Francisco Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame.

Laurie's turn ons include Pig music, helping animals, SF Giants baseball, good wine, her dog and three kitties, and her home with her longtime boyfriend in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Turn offs include nuclear war, and the Dodgers in the post-season.
