Jackson Browne's second album defined the idea of the Southern California singer-songwriter--one part country, one part folk, eight parts introspection. It would be disgustingly maudlin except for the fact that Browne has some powerful songs, like the title track and "Lady of the Well." But he can up the volume a little, turning out a version of his own "Take It Easy" that outdoes the Eagles and cranking up the bar-band boogie on "Redneck Friend." For the most part, though, it's late nights in the dark and candlelight, and Jackson Browne did it well. --Chris Nickson

This is his best
Heading to the Grand Canyon in a few weeks and couldn't very well go without Mr. Browne's version of his song, "Take It Easy" as we stop in Winslow, AZ.
I bought this used from Half Price Books. Delivery was promised on or after March 7th, but arrived March 2nd. Well packaged, no cracks on the CD case and no noticeable markings or scratches on the CD. It ripped to Media Player without issue and the sound quality was perfect. Very pleased and I would say that this is a vendor that you and I can trust for future purchases.
As for the album itself, there are some really great songs on here, in addition to Take It Easy - Our Lady of the Well, Colors of the Sun, I Thought I Was a Child, These Days, the unforgettable Redneck Friend, The Times You've Come, Ready or Not, Sing My Songs to Me, and For Everyman. Great music by a gifted artist.
I still listen to this album, especially during this last year of the pandemic... it calms my soul and takes me back to a time when it greatly helped me heal from a broken heart.

"Our Lady in the Well", "These Days", "Red Neck Friend"... hasta llegar a la canción que da título al disco, verdaderamente monumental.
Take it Easy: Muss man nicht viel zu sagen/schreiben. 5/5
Our Lady of the Well: Es geht nahtlos über in diesen wunderbaren Song. 5/5
Colors of the Sun: Midtempoballade, in Moll gehalten (glaube ich zumindest :-) ), traurig und doch traumhaft, die akustischen Gitarren und das traumhafte Piano. Nie war JB besser! 5/5
I Thought I Was a Child: Piano und akustische Gitarre leitet diese Ballade ein, wundervoll. 5/5
These Days: Noch so ein Klassiker, der auch auf keiner Best Of fehlt, zu Recht, alleine das Gitarrensolo zum Schluss: traumhaft! Midtemposong, wie sie nur JB schreiben kann. 5/5
The Times you've Come: Akustisch gehaltene Ballade, Bonnie Raitt singt die Harmony Vocals, auch wieder soooo schön! 5/5
Ready or Not: Der Song, den JB anlässlich der Schwangerschaft seiner ersten Frau geschrieben hat, gehört auch zu meinen absoluten Lieblingssongs. Herrlicher Text. 5/5
Sing My Songs to Me: Noch eine Ballade zum Schluss mit kräftigem Schlagzeug von Gary Mallaber, der später in den frühen 90ern mit Bruce Springsteen im Studio war und für den Beat auf dem Album Lucky Town sorgte, klasse Song, der nahtlos übergeht in For Everyman. 4,5/5
