This four-CD celebration offers an incredibly comprehensive look at the Allman Brothers, adding early demos, rare live recordings, alternate takes, outtakes, remixes, and solo efforts to the already powerful "official" catalog. Their progression from '60s Invasion-style rockers to blues cover band with a taste for B.B. King to dynamic rock & roll juggernaut is astonishing, and the inclusion of sundry oddities will make collectors happy. The booklet is thorough and lovingly produced. --Marc Greilsamer

My only bitch is the way its packaged. Instead of a small box with the cd's packaged one behind the other, the cd's are packed beside each other so you have a LP-sized box to find room for. Having said that, I think they did it that way so you get a decent-sized booklet which has all sorts of cool pics in it and track information.
Anyway, buy it. Its worth it. Lots of goodies there for the serious ABB fan and lots of tracks from 'related bands'.
I would love to give you a full tour of the set but my wife is calling. "Yes my petal, coming ....."
if you are having a conversation with Duane Allman as he is introducing an obscure
live cut. In fact, the live tracks would constitute the makings of a concert you
would never be able to forget. And live is where the Allman Brothers belong if you
are going to hear them at their best. The rest of the tracks are like an enyclopedia of the bands first 30 years. Its hard to think of anything that was left
off. Dreams truly is more then I asked for.
First cd was early Allman Brothers music - sounded more like Beach Boys/The Doors mixed together, but towards the end, that old, familiar Allman Brothers music shines through.
Bought second - hand. Seller was true to word - not disappointed!

Allman Brothers are one of my 'all time favorite' bands.
Pour ce qui est du contenu, le premier cd propose des morceaux de la fin des années soixante de The Allman Joys, Hour glass, The 31st of February, Duane Allman et The Allman Brothers Band. (17 titres, 75'01).
