Editorial Reviews
Product Description
Remastered USA version of their 1965 first number one album in America. The different cover art photo was shot by British fashion photographer David Bailey. The album featured "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" as the opening track on side two of the LP, which was also their first number one single on the Billboard chart. This is a much more R&B oriented album, with less out and out blues. It also the first with more band originals than covers. Other key tracks include "The Last Time", "Play with Fire", & "Cry to Me".

This one misses a golden opportunity by not including "Get Off of My Cloud" ("Just 'cause you feel so good, d'ya have to drive me out of my head?"), but that's about the only mistake it makes. In the few months since the release of Now!, the Stones' sound had grown harder; even a ballad like O.V. Wright's "That's How Strong My Love Is" attains a rumble that'll make you think a big truck is driving by your house. When Jagger drawled, "Buzz a while," in the middle of the group's debut the year before, he probably had no idea what his boys were soon to make of that command: "The Last Time," "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man," "Satisfaction." --Rickey Wright

"The Last Time" is fabulous rock and roll tune, strongly driven by the slightly-echoed (but great sound effect!) lead guitar of Brian Jones. "That's How Strong My Love Is" provides a powerful and bluesy tune where Bill Wyman's and Charlie Watts' heavy engine leads the band through a beautiful ballad-like love song. "Good Times" is a wistful Jagger, reminiscing gently about times past and present, wishing they would last forever. "I'm alright" is a live cut; not bad, but the screaming girls are obviously overdubbed on this frenzied-pace filler.
Of course, "Satisfaction" is their mega-hit that made the Stones international, launching them directly into a stratosphere that had been occupied only by the Beatles. From this point on, these two groups would always be ranked at the top of the British Invasion. "Cry To Me" is another slow love song, but again, Jagger delivers a very powerful, emotional and bluesy ballad not unlike "I Got The Blues" from Sticky Fingers six years later."Under Assistant..." is a humorous and extremely catchy number, one that will have you tapping your feet, with great harmonica throughout! "Play With Fire" is a slow ballad that just reeks "England" what with its references to St. John's Wood, and the very English-sounding harpsichord. A Jagger-Stones original, this exquisite tune is reminiscent of "Lady Jane" from Aftermath. "Spider and The Fly" is yet another slightly humorous tune, a relaxed mid-tempo sound with nice harmonica.
Although most of the tunes on Out of Our Heads are covers, this album easily rates five stars due to the high quality of the Stones' arrangements, not to mention Last Time and Satisfaction. As I write this review in 2015, Satisfaction's impact on the Rock and Roll world is so powerful that one can hardly escape hearing it in somewhere in the media 50 years later! This composition is simply a perfect and timeless "Gem Stone" in the History of Rock.
If you are a Stone Head, especially of their Classic Era up to 1972, you will no doubt love this album. It should be considered an essential part in any collection of '60s rock.

A me è arrivata quella americana, con il brano Satisfaction inserito in una scaletta già piena di pietre miliari del rhythm and blues.
Toujours à l'extérieurs de mon top 5 "Out of Our Heads" mériterait la pole position pour n'importe quel autre groupe.
