33 tracks of the Eagles very best
Release in 2003 spent 62 weeks on U.S. charts and an amazing 325 weeks on the Irish Albums Chart, never leaving the chart since release. The 33 tracks on this double album includes "Hotel California", released in February 1977, written by Don Felder (music), Don Henley, and Glenn Frey (lyrics), has been interpreted by many. They described it as their "interpretation of the high life in Los Angeles" and in 2013 Henley said that the song was about "a journey from innocence to experience...that's all". The term "colitas" in the first stanza means "little tails" in Spanish; in Mexican slang it refers to buds of the cannabis (marijuana) plant. "Take It To the Limit" was written by Eagles members Randy Meisner, Don Henley and Glenn Frey and released in 1975. It was originally sung by Meisner, who left the band in 1977, was not performed again until 1999 and sung by Glenn Frey. "Desperado", Frey and Henley, was ranked in the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" by Rolling Stone and has been covered by 19 artists including Linda Ronstadt (1973), the Carpenters (1975), Johnny Cash (2002), Neil Diamond (2010) and Diana Krall (2015).
