Pet-O-Rama: October 6th 2025Bobo! PLUS Adoption Fee Special
Posted: Monday, October 6, 2025
Meet Bobo, the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Pet of the Week. He's a 9 month old, black & brindle mixed breed pup, weighing in at about 45 lbs.
Bobo is active and intelligent, so although our staff and volunteers do an AMAZING job caring for him, being in a kennel most of the day is NOT his favorite. He loves going for walks or hikes, likes car rides, enjoys learning new skills & tricks to earn treats or praise, and he loves to play tug! Bobo is a little skeptical of new people at first, and will sometimes woof on first meeting, but then he softens up and wants to make friends. This makes him a great "watchdog" - notifying his people when something new or unusual is going on. He'll need an active home and people, who can direct his energy and intelligence in positive, desirable ways through positive reinforcement training, active play, puzzle toys, and exercise. He's treat- and play-motivated, so folks who enjoy training and living with active dogs will love his energy and enthusiasm! ADOPTION FEE SPECIAL: The Shelter's low adoption fee of $150 includes spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations and a microchip, and our Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation provides a $200 training voucher to every dog adopter. This can be used with a local certified positive reinforcement trainer to help learn fundamental training and relationship-building skills ad to gain insights into what motivates a new dog. For more info, listen to Pet-O-Rama Thursdays at 11:00am or visit the shelter, located at 1001 Rodriguez St. in Santa Cruz and open from 11am to 6pm every day. |
