Ralph Anybody
Schedule: Weekdays 6:00 to 10:00am
Ralph Anybody, a.k.a The Lips, a.k.a. Not A Morning Person, was born in beautiful downtown Burbank, which may explain a lot: He was taught at an early age to appreciate humor, music and art.In the 70's he moved to Paris, France and spent two years at the Sorbonne. He found solace at the gravesite of Jim Morrison and spent many afternoons visiting there. It was during the same period that he began having trouble sleeping, often sitting up nights with a stack of records and a cheap record player, playing music and annoying his neighbors. He never imagined that there would be a place where he could get paid to do this very thing.
Ralphie began performing stand-up comedy at the age of 20. He spent the next 14 years on the road playing every town from Las Vegas, Nevada to Minot, North Dakota, and he won the Santa Cruz Comedy Competition in 1984. One night after a show in Farmington, New Mexico, Jim Morrison came to Ralph in a dream and told him to follow the magic pig. The pig would bring him riches. The pig would make his life complete…turns out, Jim lied! And for those of you who are buying any of this...thanks for listening! Ralphie has many other duties behind the scenes at KPIG, none of which are very interesting, important or worth mentioning. Sorry we wasted your time reading this.

Born in Massachusetts, grew up in New York, found home in California. I love all kinds of music (well, most) and hanging out with you on Saturday mornings and whenever I fill in. As Todd says, I'm just happy to be here. Thanks for listening.
Mick Gray
Schedule: Weeknights 8:00 to midnight (varies) plus "Sunday Morning Coming Down" every Sunday from 8:00am to 1:00pm
Mick has been a music fanatic since his childhood was filled with the magic of Top 40 AM radio. From hanging out with KSJO/KFAT DJ Tom Mix in the late 70's--to his ZOOM show "KMiC Radio" in the pandemic era, music has always been a top priority in his life.
During his 35-year career as a DC Comics artist, Mick attended at least 3 live music events a month and amassed a collection of almost 10,000 LPs, CDs, 45s and 78s! His last major comic book project was the swan song of a wonderful career... LIFE HOUSE, a 170-page full-color hard-bound graphic novel, the 50-year dream project of Pete Townshend (THE WHO). Now, after a lifetime of loving radio, Mick is so proud to be part of the KPIG team as "your radio pal" every Sunday from 8AM to 1PM with his show "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down".
Joe "Mojoe" Bac
Schedule: Wednesday and Friday 10:00am to 3:00pm. Alternate Saturdays from 1:00 to 6:00pm. Fill-in as needed.
Mojoe is a lifelong musician and longtime listener of KPIG radio. He owns a real radio tuner that is programmed to only receive the KPIG signal (on all presets) and is distributed it to wifi speakers throughout his home. "There's no escaping KPIG in our home. It's a dream come true for me to be a part of the KPIG family. Please don't pinch and wake me up from this dream," he says.
Michael Gaither
Schedule: Fill-in, as needed. Michael also handles all the KPIG website and social media activity (Facebook and Instagram) plus our"Pigs In a Podcast"series.
You remember those geeky people who studied liner notes (on those things we used to call records) and could namedrop who wrote what song and who played with whom on which album? That's Michael. Already a serious music nerd, KPIG further honed Michael's musical tastes when the station popped into his hometown 30 years ago. These days, you'll hear him here on the pig as a fill-in DJ, popping in whenever there's a need. Behind the scenes, Michael handles all the KPIG social media activity and produces our "Pigs In A Podcast" series.
Outside of the station, Michael performs regularly both solo and with His New Best Friendsband, hosts two trivia nights in Santa Cruz County, and he's the music writer for the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
Gavin
Schedule: Alternate Saturdays from 1:00 to 6:00pm. Sundays 1:00 to 6:00pm.
I live in the land of indie, alt-country, Laurel Canyon, Bruce and folk, with infrequent Irish detours—sometimes it's traditional, sometimes it's Van the Man. I'll spin old songs, new songs, and everything in between, as long as it's not the current country. Ever. (Johnny, Patsy, and Willie are safe, obviously!)
I make playlists the way some people make dinner—daily, and sometimes with questionable pairings that just work. (At least I think they do.) And I'm usually making them when I should be doing something else. I'm pretty sure my Pleasure Point Moody Sky mix got me this gig (though honestly, my "Escape to Zihuatanejo" playlist really does deserve a playlist Grammy).
I'm deeply honored to be at KPIG. I've been listening for 2/3rds of my life, mildly surprised they let me in, and thrilled to share the soundtrack of my life with ya'll.
"Choo Choo" Charlie
Schedule: "Alternate Roots" Saturday evenings from 8:00 to 10:00pm.
"Choo Choo" Charlie is bonafide KPIG royalty. His grandfather, Cousin Al, ran the Sunday night bluegrass show for decades. (Charlie even used to carry boxes of records up the stairs for Al.) Charlie now hosts the "Alternate Roots" show every single Saturday night from 8:00 to 10:00pm.
Reverend Billy C. Wirtz
Schedule: Sundays 9:00 to 10:00pm
The good reverend makes a special appearance on the pig each Sunday night for Reverend Billy's Rhythm Revival. Just think: You're scrolling through the stations, and all of a sudden, you thinking you may be experiencing a "Twilight Zone," moment. You're listening to wild, jumpin' R&B from the 1950's, followed by Sam Cooke singing Gospel, segueing into Ina –Gadda- Da-Vida in Spanish. In Between the tunes, the often manic, occasionally scholarly "Man With The Plan, With The Platters in His Hand," Rev. Billy C. Wirtz, tells you about the circumstances under which the song was recorded, the original label it was on, and what the sax player ordered to go from the nearby Chinese restaurant.
"Theme" shows are is specialty. One week he may go off on a Boogie Woogie kick, playing nothing but numerous variations on the famous eight-to-the-bar style. Wirtz brings thirty years of playing music on the road to the table as well, often relating personal stories involving the music he plays. Over the years, he has developed a devoted following, that continues to grow. From the sacred to the (mildly) profane, tune into the Rhythm Revival, and get a dose of that "Healin' Feelin'on the Rhythm Revival, Rev. Billy C. Wirtz. AMEN!!
