The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter has an adorable, compact little guy lined up as this week's Pet of the Week: Have a look at Hershey. He's a three-year-old male rabbit. He loves being petted and is a fun and loving bun. Hershey is all black and doesn't have special spots or unique markingsm but he has a special personality and brings joy to the people he interacts with.

The folks at the Shelter says that Hershey likes to chill in his hidey box but once he sees you, he picks up his toys and runs them from one end of the room to the other, showing off his dexterity and speed. Hershey lived with other rabbits in the past so bonding him with a friend is a possibility. As always, they recommend that all of rabbits live inside your home and are given space to exercise and express their curiosity.  Hershey is litter-box trained and would make a wonderful addition to your family.

• Sunday, July 12th from 12:30-3pm Bunnies & Brews at the Balefire Brewing Co at 51517 E Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz.
  Come meet adoptable bunnies and sip a delicious beer.
   
• Saturday, July 18th Doors open at 7:30pm Purrrrrrfest 666 at the Blue Lagoon on Pacific Ave in Santa Cruz.  $20 Suggestion Donation.
  Proceeds go to the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter
