Pet-O-Rama: Knife and Fork (Two Kittens!)Week of August 3rd, 2026
Posted: Wednesday, August 5, 2026
Knife and Fork, this week's this week's Pets of the Week at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter were found in a Watsonville mobile home park about 3 weeks ago, struggling with respiratory illness and outdoor life. They've recovered well under the shelter's care, and now it's time for these two cuties to find the indoor home of their dreams! These beautifully-patterned kittens are friendly and social, and could go home together or individually. Fork has a little damage to one of his eyes from his illness, or it may be a minor injury. It has improved some as he's regained his health, and it doesn't seem to impact his vision or his activity significantly. Our clinic team will happily advise any potential adopters about his prognosis and any minimal special care he may need. Note: The shelter's adoption fee for kittens is $150, but because kittens thrive with trusted playmates, they'll always consider 2-for-1 adoption fees if you're adopting a bonded pair! And that fee is an incredible bargain, because it always includes a microchip, spay or neuter surgery, and age-appropriate vaccinations! Also, tickets are going fast for Parks & Rex, Saturday, August 15! A dog pool party to raise funds for County Parks Youth programs and the Animal Shelter, you can find information and ticketing links at our website www.scanimalshelter.org . If you can't attend or just aren't a dog pool party kind of person, but you'd still like to support the cause, purchase some raffle tickets for amazing prizes - you don't have to attend the event to win!
