Help Us Celebrate the 1200th "Please Stand By"Sunday, March 12th at Michael's on Main

3/14/20 UPDATE: Tomorrow's live broadcast of our 1200th "Please Stand By" will go on as planned from Michael's on Main. But remember that if you're not comfortable attending live, you can of course listen to the entire show of very fine, swine music from the comfort of your HOME sty. We want you piggies to be safe and comfortable. Please celebrate with the Pig as we broadcast the 1200th "Please Stand By" show from Michael's on Main in Soquel on Sunday March 15th. You can also listen from home via our stream, at 107.5FM in the Santa Cruz/Monterey area, or at 94.FM in the SLO sty. This extended episode runs from 10:00am to 1:00pm. "Please Stand By" has quite a history: The legendary live music show began with host "Sleepy" John Sandige and early co-hosts including original KFAT DJs Amy Airheart and Unkle Sherman (with audio tech wiz David Nielsen behind the scenes). Originating at KHIP radio, it moved briefly to KUSP, and even broadcast from General Feed and Seed (thanks Jerry Kay!) for a spell until KPIG founder Laura Ellen Hopper brought it to a permanent home at the pig. Laura then dubbed it "Please Stand By". Performers include: Sherry Austin, Derek Bodkin, Marky Starks, Carolyn Sills and Gerard Egan, Anthony Arya, Bonny June & the Bonfires, Michael Gaither & His New Best Friends, Richard Stockton, Keith Greeninger, Mira Goto, Wallace Baine, Steve Palopoli, County Supervisor John Leopold, Ralph Anybody, and Patti Maxine. |
